
Jennifer Porter

Jennifer Porter is the assistant director in the Investment Adviser Regulation Office within the SEC’s Division of Investment Management. That office is responsible for rulemaking activities under the Investment Advisers Act and provides advice on policy initiatives affecting the asset management industry.
Jennifer has contributed to the SEC in various roles since she joined the agency. She served as a senior policy advisor for two of the Division’s directors and as a senior advisor for Chair Mary Jo White. She also served as a branch chief and attorney in the Investment Adviser Regulation Office, acting branch chief in the Disclosure Review and Accounting Office, and attorney in the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Prior to joining the SEC, Jennifer worked as a senior associate in the Investment Management Practice Group at WilmerHale. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law and Middlebury College.
